About Us

What We Are

The Serendib Charitable Trust supports exceptional initiatives in education for young people with disabilities. We seek out and provide expertise, experience and resources to support the work of schools and organisations dedicated to providing for marginalised young people worldwide. We are currently supporting the Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The children who attend this school are either deaf and/or blind, and in many cases are orphans. Our project will provide the school with the infrastructure (such as specialist teaching laboratories) necessary to provide an education for these children as a means to improved prospects and overcoming disabilities and hardship.

Who we are

What initially started as one person’s vision to change the lives of underprivileged children has expanded, with the help of a diverse team, to bring that vision to life.

Check out the video above to capture a glimpse of what we're doing to help impact and change the lives of Kids in Sri Lanka

What We Do

What We Do

We are currently funding the development of suitable and sustainable facilities at Nuffield, such that once the project is complete, the school will be able to provide the much-improved education that these children deserve. With our help, the children will receive an education that empowers them with the knowledge, key skills and confidence to play more active and integrated roles in their communities.

How We Do It

How We Do It

We believe we are unique in that we can truly claim that every penny raised goes towards our cause. We bring our time, expertise and enthusiasm to the charity. We take away only the satisfaction that comes with knowing that we’re making a real, tangible difference to children’s lives. We don’t claim expenses, none of the volunteers are paid, and even when we go to visit the children at the school, we do this with our own money and not that of the charity’s.
